Plantation
Old bones, new scale, and a client who knew exactly what perfection looked like.

This project was a remodel and expansion of a thousand-square-foot plantation cottage into a larger home that could take year-round advantage of its stunning location. The client, an architect with impeccable taste, had a simple standard: everything plum, true, and square. Every trim line, every tile course, reglet, and every cabinet edge aligned.

The kitchen is a study in form and function. Deep storage, clean surfaces, everything hidden until needed. Stone backsplash runs continuously into the window sills, it’s the kind of detail that doesn't announce itself but registers immediately, creating a feeling of balance and ease because nothing is overlooked and nothing is out of place.

Contrasting with the hard precision of the kitchen, cork floors in the living area bring warmth and sustainability to a home designed to be as comfortable as it is considered.

This is the second home Boyd built for this client, exceeding the expectations of her design vision.
